Theatre Jam Session “Now AL-Bum”
Association for International Cultural Management “Sea Blue”
presents: Theatre Jam Session “Now AL-Bum”
First Performance 8th November
Venue: Art Gallery Markoni Varna, 22 “Ohrid” Str.
Script based on : Eugeny Grishkovets (Monodrame “Saychas”) And Elitsa Mateeva (Travel notes “Скажите, пожалуйстя, сколько стоит Путин?”)
We welcome all of you with some nice russian bread rings!
P.S. The Project is part of the credo-programme of author team of the jam session “Every artist – cultural capital of the world!”
Thanks to this project Elitsa Mateeva expresses moral support to the cause of the artists at Varna Dramatic Theatre and Opera.
This is why the Theatre Jam Session is free to all habitants of Varna.
“Now AL-Bum” is an attempt to remind the purity and the fleetness of living.
“Now-“ is a performance based on 8 fragments, in which My Ego shares with You the little quotidian miracles. What is one day without your town, without summer, without a stab of cigarette, without the coffee, without those little hardships of life that make sometimes the invisible hair of your feet to bristle up with anger, without the breathless buzz of the engine of your old car, without the hotness of the grilled potatoes prepared by an old grand-ma, without the first love, without the tear that make you turn into a living human?
The artist, author and dramatist Eugeny Grishkovets is part of the intellectual movement OXYGEN (amongst the founders of OXYGEN and the artist Ivan Viripaev known to the local public from the theatre plays of Galin Stoev and Yavor Gardev). Eugeny Grishkovets has never been known to the Bulgarian audience. This is why, “AL-BUM” enjoys the opportunity to promote one modern Russian author, director, writer and music interpreter.
It is curious the idea of creating a theatre jam session – the monodramatic beginning is developed in the form of a radio-interview in an environment similar to the radio studio.
DJ ДЕДЬ МОРОЗ determines the topics in the radio studio “Satellite 703”- the broadcast is entitled “AL-BUM”. Through the forms of music and dance based on the principles of minimalism, the audience along with the participants travel across an improvised world of memories, associations and recover the flavour of the past when children were fragile as Cheburashka and today’s ex-children are already dangerous growns-up in style Mrs. Shapokliak.
Grishkovets’s original text combines the positivism and romantism without sounding too much sentimental and melodramatic. The specific team’s intention is to present Grishkovets’s dramaturgy in a accessible, funny and suggestive way. It supposes the communicative character of the whole interpretation. The Jam-Session is aimed at the young generation, but the authors will be pleased to communicate with any generation that appreciates the achievements of Russian culture.
The participants in the theatre Jam Session are as follows:
DJ Дедь Мороз- Dobromir Todorov (sound-director and author of the broadcast “45 revolutions” – Radio Varna) Guest in the radio studio - Elochka Mateevna – actress and director of “SEGA ALBUM”

Multimedia Project “I am/want to be” - Episode II
On 9th September 2009, the Association for International Cultural Management “Sea Blue”- Varna decided to show up in the local community of Varna thanks to one modest, intriguing and alternative to the space solutions exhibition “Garage Project”.
The exhibition was set up in one Moto Garage. Through the collation of sounds, video and photographies we introduced 5 young artists that create art in different fields: Stefka Georgieva- painter, Elena Vladova – writer, Nikolay Yordanov – musician-composer, Elitsa Mateeva – screenplay writer and theatre director, Georgi Enchev- Goosh – choreographer of street dances.
It’s time to continue with Episode 2.
On 17th September, Friday, at 19.00 o’clock the GARAGE will open to present the new exhibition including 5 young artists:
Yassen Kazandzhiev – art manager whose main working tool is his mobile. He loves traveling to recharge his creative batteries.
Aleksander Nikolov- cinema director whose passion are short movies ( tendency to make them longer). He nourishes special respect about the speech-therapists thanks to whom he makes cinema today.
Svilen Georgiev – painter and teacher at the National Art High School “D. Hristov” – Varna - he is fond of graving art, doesn’t drink, doesn’t smoke and doesn’t listen to chalga.
Vassil Tonovski – poet, journalist. He tries to paint, to create photographies, likes philosophy and makes wonderful translation of German poetry of 16th centurty. Expect very first poems book.
A-Moral – punk-hardcore band. All their songs are entirely in Bulgarian. Their titles are diverse : “Kicks for all fools”, “Lord Mayor Idiot”, “Walnut Rod”, “We’ve been stolen”.
The authors of the project are 3 members of the Association “Sea Blue” – the photographer Radostina Valchanova, the journalist at Radio Varna – Svetlana Valkova and the music editor at Radio Varna – Dimitar Dimitrov.
The idea of “I am/want to be” consists of promoting modern art through modern forms of art as well as its authors.
The combination of modern forms of art expression and the alternative urban environment is the primer feature of all projects of the association.
“Gramophony”
Let’s save Vynila!
“Gramophony” in Varna, later up in other cities!
We got started with a new attractive project under the code title “Let’s save Vynila”.
The very first action of the Association in the name of Vynila consist of a series of music parties entitled “Gramophony”.
All of these parties took place every Thursday (but not always) at 20.00 in Blues Brothers Bar, 19, Tsaribrod Str.
The first gathering happened on 8th April.
The music conception and interpretation are due to Dobromir Todorov – Soulmate, anchor man of the broadcast “45 revolutions in a minute” at Radio VArna.
The first party evolved as a “funk” but then we kept up with some rock, jazz, disco, Bulgarian music and some other music genres we like. Everyone was able to bring its favourite records and to make the others listen to them. There were quizzes connected with music and old records and some of the participants were even awarded. Our main goal is to revive the tradition of listening to old records that is so crucial to construct a deep connection with music – communication with the material copy and the cover of the record. There is no other better alternative to these two elements composing the old record. The vynila record is the only music support which allows the mechanic extraction of the sound (it is the similar process with the acoustic instruments). Each digital production ( audio cd, mp3 and so on) is a simulation of a mechanically produced sound but it is not genuine. This is why the vynila cd produces the recorded sound in the most genuine way. As for the cover – it contains precious information about the interpreters, the musicians, the titles of the songs and other related information. It looks like a big format art production which is incomparable the cd cover and it completely lacks for the mp3 productions. The collectioners and the fans of vynila were able to exchange information and to exchange records during the “Gramophony” parties.
On 17th July we are starting a new initiative, targeted to little children “ Gramophony for children”. Parties for children full of lots of games and surprises and of course, old records, this is a common initiative of the Association “Sea Blue” and the Art Children Club “Cricket”.
We invite you to come to us and to listen together to the records!
The project “Let’s save vynila” and “Gramophony’” have already a blog. We will enjoy anyone that would like to contribute to the blog with creative opinions, recommendations and ideas. Let’s save vynila together.

Contempo 2 – Weekend of modern art
“Open space action of con.tempo weekend partners.
“Praise the victory of the space-man”
Thanks to this symbolic action we are starting the second edition of the Weekend of modern art con.tempo 12th april – the international day of space-men , this is day was chosen by the organizers because of the analogy with the obstacles, dangers and the heroic actions and ceaseless fervence to conquer new spaces in the outer space of human imagination. In spite of the ironic character of the action – the space-rocket blast in the sky – this artistic act aims at promotion and provocation of modern art. It aims at provoking society’s awareness of artists’ life and work who, in the context of today’s financial crisis and lack of responsible attitude of the Government, keep up working without compromises and deploying their talents raising Bulgarian art at international level. Multimedia Project “I am/want to be”
This is our first independent project. We want to identify ourselves in society through this project and to promote our understanding of modern art as well as our ideas of exhibiting it in an alternative environment.
Our exhibition consisted of sound , video and photography. Five different young artists to be introduced: the painter Stefka Georgieva, the writer Elena Vladova, the musician-composer Nikolay Yordanov, the theatre director and screenwriter Elitsa Mateeva, the choreograph Georgi Enchev – Goosh whose main environment is the street dance.
All this will happen in one Motor garage in the heart of Varna during 2 evenings – on 9th and 10th September 2009. Authors of the project are 3 members of the Association “Sea Blue” – the photographer Radostina Valchanova, Svetlana Valkova – journalist at Radio Varna, Dimitar Dimitrov – music editor at Radio Varna.
The idea of “I am /want to be” is to promote modern art through the most recent artistic forms and its creators. The collation of modern artistic forms and alternative urban environment will be the most fundamental feature of the projects of the Association “Sea Blue”.
The title of the project suggests that the artists- participants and the members of “Sea Blue” are already confirmed and achieved professionals in their art sectors but cooperating together they want to give a new face of modern art here and now.
